St. Mary's Offers Accredited Acute Care Rehabilitation Program

The RehabCare Program at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center is one of only a few acute care rehabilitation facilities in northwest Oklahoma. Our experienced and compassionate team is well-prepared to help patients regain independence after having a stroke, experiencing spinal cord injuries, or having a hip replacement, amputation or other major surgery.

A Permanent Method of Birth Control

Women who are seeking a permanent form of birth control may be interested in Essure®, an alternative to tubal ligation, or tying the tubes. This procedure involves inserting spring-like coils through the vagina and into the fallopian tubes. David Ferguson, M.D. says it does not require cutting the abdomen or an overnight hospital stay, and patients generally resume normal activities in one to two days.

St. Mary's Offers Advanced Neurosurgical Procedures

At St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, neurosurgeons Barry Pollard, M.D., and Bruce Pendleton, M.D., perform procedures for conditions that include brain tumors, head injuries and chronic back pain. Drs. Pollard and Pendleton met while completing their residency training at the University of Oklahoma in the early 1980s, and they have been operating together for 18 years.

Special Treatment for Brain Injury Recovery

Brain injuries are a leading cause of disability in the U.S. "Treating and rehabilitating brain injury survivors takes special skills, training and experience, because in addition to physical limitations, patients also may be dealing with cognitive and behavioral issues related to the injury," says Lori McMillin, Director of the RehabCare Program at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
